PWA:  Alexia the last time we saw you in the ring you were having a very competitive match with Jasmin at Quest for Glory II on November 2nd, 2013 in Kitchener.  During that contest you sustained an injury.  Can you tell us what happened?

Alexia:  Sure.  Near the end of the match I gave Jasmin a northern lights suplex and it might have been the way I landed or how much pressure and weight was on my shoulder or maybe even a freak accident but as soon as I landed I dislocated my shoulder. It was a big deal for me because I already had shoulder surgery before so I really wasn’t expecting my shoulder to ever pop out.

a

PWA:  It was definitely a pause on your career that is starting to blossom.  Can you tell the fans about your recovery and how it has gone?

Alexia: I had open shoulder surgery in January and recovery has been going great. I’ve been healing a lot quicker than expected and my doctors are all impressed with how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time.

a

PWA:  It was definitely a setback as no one enjoys injuries.  During your time away from the ring is there anything you did or could do with wrestling while you had your sights set on a return?

Alexia: Up until recently there wasn’t much I could do wrestling wise. My main focus was to get back in shape, build up the muscle, and most importantly heal properly so that I’d be able to get back in the ring. Now that I’m starting to get back in the ring and train again I’m just trying to be even better than I was before  Read More

4 Way MainBy interfering and causing a draw in the 30 minute Iron-Woman Main Event of Femmes Fatales XIV, Mercedes Martinez thought she would have no contender for her NCW Femmes Fatales International Championship. However, after the match, things heated up quickly as Cheerleader Melissa, who was Mercedes’ friend, got really upset that the champ had pulled out the referee after she hit her Air Raid Crash on Courtney Rush. As Mercedes tried to explain her actions, everything got worst as Melissa, Mercedes, Rush and LuFisto, who tried to help Rush without success, all brawled before the locker room emptied into the ring to stop everything. On August 16th, Mercedes Martinez will have to face the three top contenders instead of only one. This match will be different than the 4-Way she wrestled in at Femmes Fatales XIV as she wrestled three future stars of the promotion. Now she has to face 3 top contenders with worldwide recognition… Will Martinez be able to keep her title?

On Sunday May 25th, 2014, from the Merrittion Community Centre in St Catharines, Ontario, Crossfire Wrestling held “Mayhem” that saw Skylar Rose square off against Kaitlin Diemond.  These two are no strangers to each other and have battled on several occasions in the past.  There was no love lost between the fans and Diemond as they made sure that she understood that she was unwelcome in hometown girl Skylar Rose’s city.  Throughout the match Kaitlin Diemond would try to bully the smaller Rose around using her strength and brawling tactics however Rose would not be pushed around and used her speed and agility to overcome Diemond’s offence and fought fire with fire as she used a few punches and kick of her own.

Near the end of the match a desperate Diemond dropped to mat grabbing her knee yelling out in pain with tears in her eyes as a shocked crowd and Skylar Rose looked on in shock.  However, this was just a fake out as Diemond was faking the knee injury to try and sucker Rose into lowering her guard so that she could change the advantage and end the match.  Rose would not allow this to take place and went on to catch Diemond right on the button with a huge super kick that dropped Diemond which more than allowed Rose the opportunity to go for the cover and pick up the three count win. On Saturday May 24th, 2014, from the Ludus Wresting Center in Brooklyn, New York, Valkyrie Women’s Professional Wrestling held an International Joshi Grand Prix tournament that saw Canada’s Cherry Bomb take on Hania Huntress in the opening round of the tournament.

Before the match started Cherry Bomb tried to sway the ring announcer and the crowd to get them on her side but it was to no avail much to the disgust of Cherry.  On the other hand the fans fully supported Hania which helped her gain an early advantage as she was able to get Cherry Bomb in a painful looking scissors and followed it up moments later with a tight side headlock and hammerlock in an attempt to wear Cherry down.  Hania Huntress is very agile, athletic and also is extremely powerful which makes her a very difficult opponent to deal with and many opponents go down to defeat under her pressure and offensive onslaught. On Friday May 24th, 2014 from The Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida, SHINE Wrestling hosted SHINE 19 which saw Canadian and self professed “Dino Hunter” Leah Von Dutch travel south on another mission to rid Shine Wrestling of dinosaurs when she took on Taeler Hendrix.  Both of these women have a history of cheating their way to victories at Shine events and on this evening both ladies heard the sounds of boos from the capacity crowd.

Both of these women are extremely accomplished wrestlers and matched up well in both size and strength.  It was a back and forth match that saw both women cheat on several different occasions trying to pick up the win.  Leah Von Dutch used scissors, hair pulling and her impressive Dutch Clutch as well as various other rough house tactics during the match while Hendrix used her agility and speed in order to generate offence but she also utilized hair pulling and choking too.
